"The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you'll go." -Dr. Seuss

HELLO! I am very excited to be your child's teacher this year! This is my seventh year teaching at Merritt Academy. My first two years I taught Middle School Reading and for the past four years, I have taught fifth grade. Fifth grade is truly my passion and is the perfect position for me!

I graduated from Saginaw Valley State University with a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education and minors in English and Mathematics. Recently, I started taking classes toward my Master's Degree in Elementary Education. My husband's name is Robert and we have been married for over 7 years. We have one son, Brendon Michael. He turned four in April and attends preschool at Merritt. My husband and I also have a little girl, Brooke. Brooke is 15 months old and is getting bigger by the second. I truly enjoy being their mother. In my free time, I enjoy learning new things, listening to music, spending time with my family, and enjoying the outdoors.

During my years at Merritt, I have coached cheerleading, tutored with National Junior Honor Society, and advised third through fifth grade student council. Four years ago, I took on the role as lead teacher for elementary. I truly enjoy working at Merritt Academy and with the awesome staff!
